Polyethylene wax is added to strengthen the carbon black masterbatch aggregates wetting and penetration by shear force, reducing its size, but also improve the system's compatibility with the carbon black, it is conducive to disperse; therewith while reducing system viscosity, although this can increase production, but also transmitted to the shear force of the carbon black aggregates significantly decrease adverse dispersion. When a small amount of wax added to the system, its beneficial effect is greater than the dispersion effect hinder dispersed, then showed good dispersion. With the growth of the amount of wax, two role in strengthening, when the wax concentration exceeds a certain value, the dispersion of its adverse effects prevail, then realized the dispersion effect is reduced
(1) improve the dispersibility and color strength due to the molecular weight of polyethylene wax having a proper and its viscosity when affected by shearing force to obtain optimum dispersion of the pigment. Therefore, the same pigment content, wax and wax-free masterbatch color intensity vary greatly.
(2) improve the processability and productivity due to the low molecular weight polyethylene wax, resin viscosity is much less than the carrier, thereby significantly reducing the viscosity of the melt masterbatch.
